Company and Insolvency

Company
Our work covers the full range of contentious and non-contentious corporate matters. We act for directors and shareholders in a wide range of disputes, including unfair prejudice claims, share and business warranty actions and directors’ disqualification.  We also regularly advise on capital reductions, schemes of arrangement, insurance company transfers and e-commerce.  Many members of Chambers have lectured or written on the Companies Act 2006.  Furthermore, Robin Hollington QC is the author of the well known company law text Shareholders' Rights (Sweet & Maxwell 5th ed 2008).

Insolvency
We are instructed at every level in all aspects of corporate and personal insolvency. Members have acted in the largest recent high-profile company collapses, appearing for the liquidators of BCCI and the Maxwell companies. Members act for insolvency practitioners in their many different roles, as well as for those who find themselves or their companies the subject of insolvency proceedings. Our experience covers administrations, receiverships, DTI inquiries, voluntary arrangements, the adjustment of prior transactions and malpractice in and before insolvency. Our work in this area often involves the law of more than one jurisdiction, including questions of cross-border insolvency, the obtaining of evidence overseas and the restraining of the disposition of assets located worldwide.
